Common Issues & Troubleshooting

API Key Authentication Failed

If you receive an authentication error when connecting Vultr:

  • Ensure you copied the entire API key without spaces
  • Verify the API key has all required permissions enabled
  • Check if IP restrictions are blocking PloyWP's access
  • Generate a new API key if the issue persists

Instance Creation Failed

If instance creation fails during deployment:

  • Check your Vultr account has valid payment method
  • Verify you haven't reached instance limits
  • Ensure the selected plan is available in your region
  • Try a different region if specific location fails

SSH Connection Issues

If PloyWP can't connect to your instance:

  • Allow 2-3 minutes for instance initialization
  • Check Vultr firewall isn't blocking SSH (port 22)
  • Verify instance status is "Running" in Vultr dashboard
  • Ensure DDoS protection isn't interfering with connections

Performance Issues

If your WordPress site is running slowly:

  • Consider upgrading to High Frequency instances for 3x performance
  • Enable caching plugins like WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache
  • Use Vultr's CDN or Cloudflare for static assets
  • Monitor resource usage and scale if needed
